Gail Casper

Deputy Director

Gail Casper received her B.S. in Nursing from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin;  her M.S. in Nursing with a dual focus on Medical-Surgical Nursing and Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison; and her Ph.D. in Nursing from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She completed post-doctoral fellowship in Health Services Research and Medical Informatics at the Regenstrief Institute for Health Care, Indianapolis, Indiana. 
 
Longstanding interest in patient decision making and health informatics led her to study with Dr. Patricia Flatley Brennan at Case Western Reserve University and later to pursue a postdoctoral fellowship in patient centered interventions with her at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Casper’s research has focused on patient inputs to health care decisions and evaluating the impact consumer health informatics on patient outcomes in chronic illness. Currently holding an appointment as a Researcher at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Dr. Casper has served as Deputy Director of Project HealthDesign since its inception in 2006.
