Deputy Director

Gail Casper, Ph.D., R.N.,  received a bachelor's of science in nursing from Marquette University; her master's of science in nursing, with a dual focus on medical-surgical nursing and education, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison; and a doctorate in nursing from Case Western Reserve University. She completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Health Services Research and Medical Informatics at the Regenstrief Institute for Health Care in Indianapolis, Indiana.

A long-standing interest in patient decision-making and health informatics led her to study with Dr. Patricia Flatley Brennan at Case Western Reserve University and later to pursue a post-doctoral fellowship in patient-centered interventions with Dr. Brennan at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Casper’s research has focused on patient inputs to health care decisions and evaluating the impact of consumer health informatics on patient outcomes in chronic illness.
