The diagnosis and treatment of chronic pain is a major clinical and research interest for Dr. Luckmann. In addition to caring for many patients with chronic pain and the development of an electronic pain diary through Project HealthDesign, he has been involved in epidemiologic and survey research aimed at improving the care of patients living with pain. He also continues to actively pursue research interests in telephone counseling to promote cancer screening and the development of centralized tracking and outreach programs in integrated health care systems to support cancer screening.
